Another poster

Here is another poster idea my friend Kirsty did and sent too late to put on my previous post.

Other peoples input

I cut out my characters and a background and asked people to give their ideas of how the layout of my poster should be. I forget who’s was who’s, but I don’t suppose that matters too much. It was just a bit of fun for them and a good way of getting other peoples opinions. Feed back on these would be very good, I'll number them so you can pick the best.

viral marketing

As suggested by Amy earlier on in my blog, I looked up on Viral Marketing. This is what Wikioedia has to say about it…

The buzzwords viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of pathological and computer viruses. It can be word-of-mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet. Viral promotions may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergames, ebooks, brandable software, images, or even text messages.
The goal of marketers interested in creating successful viral marketing programs is to identify individuals with high Social Networking Potential (SNP) and create Viral Messages that appeal to this segment of the population and have a high probability of being taken by another competitor.
The term "viral marketing" has also been used pejoratively to refer to stealth marketing campaigns—the unscrupulous use of astroturfing on-line combined with undermarket advertising in shopping centers to create the impression of spontaneous word of mouth enthusiasm.

So I have decided as an extra to do one as well through social networking sites and posters stuck up round places to promote the film. Look out for them, they will be on the blog and even in scene that I’ll be doing for the trailers. If I do any other animation in my spear time, I might have something hidden in the background of that too.

Another teaser I have looked at

Here is another example of a Teaser Trailer. As you can see they can be more than a couple of seconds, this one lasts for one minuet forty-three seconds. This is good for me, as I wanted to d something that lasted more that say forty seconds.

Been a bit Lazy

There’s been a lot of snow and schools been closed. This was a good opportunity to do lots of work but I’m ashamed to say I didn’t really do much. Today though I was in my study and whilst looking among the books I found this one on film noir by Foster Hirsch called The dark side of the screen: Film Noir.
So I thought i'd have a flip through it.

More Poster Development

After a suggestion from my friend Amy, when i posted up my design on facebook, I have rearranged my poster a bit. Any other suggestions are welcome. I have two versions, on with the detective in the background, the other with him in the foreground. What one looks better? Then I shall put the title back on.

Comment
"The guy in the brown jacket - make him central? Because he's the main character, right?
Have the good guys over his shoulder on one side, and the guy with the claw on the other? That shows the split, kinda thing.
Annnnd, I'd make the title straighter, just so it looks a bit more professional? :P"
